CAMEL receives grant award from the Better than Ever Program

August 4, 2012

The Better Than Ever Program in the University of Arizona Cancer Center is designed to encourage participants to make exercise a regular part of life, and work to prevent cancer.  The BTE raises funds by hosting exercise activities, and these funds support cancer research at the University of Arizona.  The BTE has awarded a research grant to the CAMEL for "Measuring tumor acidity in ovarian cancer patients using non-invasive CEST MRI".  This grant will translate CAMEL's acidoCEST MRI protocol to a clinical MRI scanner, and demonstrate the feasibility of assessing tumor acidosis in cancer patients with our CEST MRI protocol.  These research studies will be conducted in colalborationw ith Drs. Setsuko Chambers, Amanda Baker, and Phil Kuo.  The CAMEL thanks the Better Than Ever Program for their generous support.
